[From original email]
Hi all… sorry for the mass email. I hate this kind of thing. But I don’t have the time to type a lot.
I just wanted to update you all on KD’s situation since it’s getting weird. He had another blood test today and his doctor wanted to immediately check him into the hospital. They decided since it was late in the day, that they may as well wait until Tuesday morning. So KD is here with me tonight, and I am going to a specialist with him tomorrow morning (Tuesday) where they will probably want to admit him to the hospital right after that.
They still don’t know what’s wrong with him and have tested for everything from Hepatitis to Typhoid. It’s enough of a mystery that the Alachua County Health Department has had to open a file on him to track the issue. I don’t want to make this into a bigger drama than it really is though, so don’t get too worried. The real problem is they don’t know what’s wrong with him. As soon as they can identify it, we’ll all feel a lot better (I hope). Maybe then they’ll be able to treat whatever it is.
I’ll keep you all up to date once I hear anything real. Again, sorry for the mass email, but I thought you all should know what’s going on.

Say What?
B-Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (bone marrow cancer to all of you med-school drop-outs). It took a month to diagnose, but they finally pinpointed KD’s problem. Not fun. Not easy. Quite shocking. What healthy 32-year-old guy randomly gets cancer? Apparently KD did. No, we’re not sure how or why. The first priority is to get him better. So he is at Shands BMTU getting chemo (he’s out-patient now). I’m keeping this blog for his fan club to keep updated on his progress. I’ll post every night, or you can email me for specifics.
